Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned and visionary Chief Operating Officer (COO) to spearhead our day-to-day operations in close collaboration with the CEO and the National Board of Directors. This pivotal leadership role is vital for enhancing operational effectiveness and ensuring that all activities are in harmony with our mission and core values. The COO will be tasked with formulating and executing the organization's strategic initiatives, with a particular focus on programs, philanthropy, financial stewardship, and overall organizational vitality. Key Responsibilities

Direct and oversee daily operations, ensuring they align with the strategic vision of the organization.

Convert high-level strategic objectives into practical, actionable initiatives that yield significant results.

Provide continuous support to the executive leadership team on crucial business decisions, effectively managing risk and resource allocation.

Promote a transparent and engaging workplace culture by consistently communicating strategic objectives and ensuring team alignment.

Act as a mentor, offering expertise in business planning, risk management, and organizational efficiency.

Oversee financial management to ensure favorable performance against the annual budget and long-term financial projections.

Actively participate in fundraising initiatives and resource development efforts to advance the organization’s mission.

Represent the organization within local communities, enhancing public engagement and organizational visibility.

Qualifications

A strong commitment to the mission and values of our organization.

A Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Nonprofit Management, or a related discipline (Advanced degree preferred).

Minimum of 15 years of nonprofit management experience, with a solid understanding of nonprofit governance and fundraising.

Proven expertise in managing complex projects across diverse teams, driving organizational efficiency and measurable results.

Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership capabilities, with the ability to collaborate effectively at all organizational levels.

Strong financial acumen, adept at translating strategic visions into operational realities.

Proven track record of making independent decisions that align with the organization's vision and strategic aims.

Specialized knowledge in operations management, risk management, human resources, and nonprofit compliance.

Familiarity with IRS laws and nonprofit regulations is essential.

A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.

Willingness and ability to travel as necessary.
