Job Objective: Maintain property and grounds accordance with acceptable standards of safety, cleanliness and appearance. Properties include building, grounds and equipment serving the building.
Essential Functions:
- Follow the cleaning schedule as provided which includes, but not limited to, the following:
- Clean all floors daily according to type of flooring and including stairwells
- Clean all bathrooms daily
- Empty all trash from offices and community areas, break down cardboard
- Dust all areas weekly including window blinds, sills and tops of cubicle dividers
- Clean windows of entryways weekly
- Clean glass on cubicle dividers and indoor windows monthly or more often as needed
- Inspect and notify management concerning needs for major repairs, safety or security issues
- Maintain inventory and advise direct supervisor of janitorial and building supply needs
- Provide routine outside maintenance such as litter and landscape areas as assigned
- Assist with set up of furniture for meetings as needed
- Assist with unloading and put away of any donations received
- Assist with seasonal activities
- Assist with transporting vehicles for maintenance as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
Experience: Janitorial and maintenance experience of at least 3 years in a multi office setting is preferred
Certifications/Licenses: None
Skills/Abilities:
- Use of basic hand tools
- Detail Oriented
- Ability to organize and carryout work plan with minimum supervision
- Ability to work with different socioeconomic groups
Supervisory Responsibility: None
Physical Requirements: Include standing, walking, climbing, and kneeling for extended periods of time; lifting up to 50 pounds. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals to perform the essential functions of this job.
Travel: None
Driving: Driving is required; Must possess a valid driver's license from the state of residence. Must be approved and maintain approval through The Salvation Army Fleet Safety Program to drive either a Salvation Army or personal vehicle on Salvation Army business.
Working Conditions: Work is performed in a typical office environment with some outdoor activity
