Job Description
The Position
We are looking for an Accounting Manager to join our team on a full-time basis. This person will be responsible for all accounting operations of the company from transactional data entry to financial reporting. This role requires a strong understanding of accounting principles, financial analysis, and financial reporting. The Accounting Manager will also be responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and laws. Responsibilities
Transactional
- Process all AP and weekly check runs
- Update and maintain vendor database
- Process all cash receipts and interbank transfers
- Weekly timesheet posting
- Monthly client billing, AR statements and past-due follow-up as required
- Monthly credit card data upload/import and generation of expense reports
- Monthly PTO accruals
- Monthly Expense Report reviews, posting and payment
- Monthly update of depreciation and amortization schedules
- Month-end Bank and Credit Card reconciliations
- Month-end journal entries
- Project set-up including billing terms, rate table, and contract management
- Year-end preparation and closing procedures
- 1099 information to outside tax advisors
Reporting
- Month-end sales/bookings reports
- Month-end financial statements and cash receipts projections
- Monthly update of dashboard reports
- Monitor key financial metrics and performance indicators
- Cash receipts forecasting
- Ad-hoc reporting and analysis as required
- Provide 1099 information to outside tax advisors
- Assist/support with Property tax filing
- Coordinate with external tax advisors to prepare and file tax returns
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree or higher in Accounting
- Technically adept in all areas of accounting and financial management, including G/L, AP, AR, and payroll
- Must have a minimum of ten (10) years professional experience in accounting/finance
- Experience with Deltek Vision or Vantagepoint a plus
- Advanced Excel skills
- Strong appreciation for procedure, process, and operational excellence
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, verbally, and in writing
- Ability to prepare concise comprehensive reports, including necessary supporting documentation
- Ability to deal tactfully and courteously as well as develop and maintain effective working relationships with employees
- Ability to plan, establish, and coordinate priorities
- Great organizational and time management skills

- Able to meet period-close deadlines
- Able to work with Project Managers to ensure adherence to Accounting deadlines
- Comfortable providing system training to new and existing staff (timesheet, expense report, others)
- Prefer some experience with construction accounting, WIP reporting (over/under), % complete
- Pass a background check which may include, but is not limited to, criminal, previous employment, and education as permitted by federal and state law
