Leidos is seeking a motivated Cybersecurity Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to become a vital part of our dynamic Security Team. In this role, located in Beavercreek, Ohio, you will work closely with the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) and System Owners to ensure that our IT systems meet all compliance requirements as per NIST SP 800-53A.
As an ISSO, you'll leverage your knowledge and experience to conduct thorough assessments and monitoring of IT systems while applying best practices for information security. Your ability to work independently and follow established procedures will enhance our security posture and safeguard our systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Establish and administer effective security systems, policies, standards, and procedures in alignment with government and corporate guidelines.
- Conduct security audits ensuring compliance with NIST 800-53A and other regulatory frameworks.
- Perform detailed risk and vulnerability assessments of Windows and Linux information systems.
- Raise awareness of security issues and effectively communicate security deficiencies.
- Develop and implement training programs to ensure all system users understand security policies and procedures.
- Analyze security events to measure impact and implement corrective actions where necessary.
- Ensure robust application of cybersecurity principles in all IT service delivery.
Basic Qualifications:
- Comprehensive understanding of information security policies and practices.
- Proven experience in creating RMF package documentation.
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field with 8-12 years of relevant experience; additional years of experience or certifications may substitute for degree.
- Active DoD SECRET clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
- Possess Security+ 8570 certification.
- Strong knowledge of NIST SP 800-53A security controls.
- Experience with maintaining information systems confidentiality, integrity, and accessibility.
- User-level proficiency in Linux environments and script execution.
- Skilled in conducting risk and vulnerability assessments.
- Experience in documenting security shortcomings and recommending corrective actions.
- Familiarity with automated vulnerability scanning tools such as Tenable Nessus and SCAP.
- Participation in security audits and reviews is essential.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and skills related to ISSO functions.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with tools like Splunk, Tenable Nessus, and SCAP.
- Basic administrative knowledge of Linux and Windows systems.
Position Details:
This position is based in Beavercreek, Ohio. The anticipated recruiting duration for this position is three days post the original posting date, which is 2024-10-10.
Compensation:
Pay Range: $101,400.00 - $183,300.00. Note that this pay range is a guideline and may vary based on individual qualifications, experience, and job responsibilities.
