POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Bilingual Production Manager to oversee all aspects of the production process within our food manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will be fluent in both English and Spanish and have a strong background in food production & packaging management. As a key member of our team, the Bilingual Production Manager will ensure the efficient operation of production lines, manage a diverse team, ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. This role requires excellent communication and leadership skills to manage bilingual teams effectively and drive the success of our production operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILTIES (including but not limited to):

Production Oversight:

Manage and oversee daily operations on the production floor, ensuring the efficient and timely production of food products.

Coordinate production schedules and resources, ensuring the timely completion of production orders while maintaining high quality and minimizing waste.

Collaborate with other departments (Quality Control, Maintenance, Supply Chain) to ensure production targets are met.

Staff Management & Leadership:

Lead and supervise a bilingual team of production & packaging workers, operators, and supervisors.

Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to staff in both English and Spanish, ensuring they are well-equipped to meet production goals and safety standards.

Ensure clear and effective communication across all levels of staff, addressing any concerns and promoting a positive and productive work environment.

Quality Control & Compliance:

Ensure that production processes comply with food safety regulations and quality standards (e.g., HACCP, FDA, USDA, GMP, SQF).

Work with the Quality Control team to maintain and monitor product quality throughout the production process, taking corrective actions when needed.

Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and quality standards.

Health & Safety:

Monitor and enforce health and safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment in compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.

Conduct safety training for bilingual staff, ensuring all team members understand safety protocols and best practices.

Address any safety concerns or incidents promptly and take corrective actions as necessary.

Inventory & Resource Management:

Oversee the management of raw materials, packaging, and finished goods to ensure production lines are adequately stocked and there is minimal downtime.

Collaborate with inventory and procurement teams to ensure the availability of necessary materials for production.

Manage resources effectively, minimizing waste and controlling production costs.

Continuous Improvement:

Identify and collaborate with management to implement process improvements to enhance production efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.

Lead initiatives for lean manufacturing and process optimization in both English and Spanish.

Encourage team members to contribute to process improvements, creating a culture of continuous improvement.

Reporting & Communication:

Maintain daily KPI whiteboards and ensure teams are provided necessary information in daily huddle meetings to optimize Safety, Quality and Output

Prepare regular reports on production metrics, quality, safety, and other key performance indicators, delivering them to senior management.

Communicate production-related updates, challenges, and successes to both English- and Spanish-speaking teams and management.

Maintain effective communication between departments to ensure smooth operations across the facility.


QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIREMENTS

A Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering is strongly preferred, however experience may be considered in lieu of education

5+ years’ experience preferably in a food processing industry with plant management experience

Proven experience in managing bilingual teams, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in both English and in Spanish

Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and quality control procedures preferred.

Work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks

Excellent leadership, communication & interpersonal skills to manage a diverse, bilingual multi-cultural workforce

Bilingual – English & Spanish communication skills are required.
