CONTRACT TYPE: 12 Months FLSA: Non-Exempt

Job performance of non-probationary personnel will be evaluated by the immediate supervisor based on Board Policy. Probationary employees will be evaluated at least annually.

CUSTODIAN JOB DESCRIPTION AND QUALIFICATIONS
JOB TITLE: CUSTODIAN
QUALIFICATIONS :
- Elementary education
- Physical ability to perform normal labor duties
- Knowledge of routine cleaning and maintenance procedures
- Such additional qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable
JOB GOAL: To provide students with a safe, attractive, comfortable, and clean place in which to learn, play, and develop.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follows assigned schedule
- Understands and carries out routine oral and written instructions.
- Performs assigned duties accurately, promptly, courteously, and efficiently.
- Employs safety practices in all areas of work.
- Makes routine oral and written reports as assigned.
- Attends workshops related to job assignment.
- Projects a favorable image of the school and school system in working with school staff, students, parents, and community
- Sweep, mop, wash, strip, wax, and vacuum floors in assigned areas as required.
- Dust furniture and clean and polish fixtures on a daily schedule.
- Keep wastebaskets emptied and clean.
- Report to principal and maintenance technician of acts of vandalism.
- Assist with keeping buildings and grounds free of paper and litter.
- Keep restrooms clean and stocked with necessary paper supplies.
- Wash all windows as needed.
- Clean presentation boards (white boards).
- Requisition supplies as needed.
- Comply with local laws and procedures for the storage and disposal of trash, rubbish, and waste.
- Assist with keeping grounds as assigned.
- Be regular and punctual in attendance.
- Perform duties in a manner that promotes good public relations.
- Maintain confidentiality of any school system related business.
- Develop and maintain proper and professional relationships with students and other employees.
- Perform other job-related duties during the school day as assigned by the supervisor.
