General Surgery & Medical Acute is a 36 Bed General Surgery and Medical Cardiac unit (5P) located in Prebys Cardiovascular Institute on the Scripps Memorial La Jolla campus. The patient populations include bariatric, gynecological, colorectal, and medical cardiac patients.
As RN you will monitor and recognize patient vital signs, symptoms, telemetry readings and EKG for abnormal heart rhythms or changes such as Afib, heart blocks, vtach/fib. Collaborate and establish trust with surgeons, physician assistants, cardiologist general medical practitioners, family nurse practitioners, charge nurse, nurse assistants and other various care team members to achieve optimum patient care.
This position is eligible for New Hire and Relocation Incentives up to $7K
The following are not eligible for hiring incentives:
* Internal candidates * Rehires that left Scripps less than 3 years ago
In order to remain eligible for your retention incentive the following criteria must be met:
* Must remain in original hired FTE Status and Shift (if specified in offer letter) * Must remain in original department/specialty * Must remain in original Job Title * Transfers to other locations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may result in forfeiting
Required Qualifications:
* Nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing * One (1) year of recent RN experience * California Registered Nurse License * Current American Heart Association BLS * Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English
Preferred Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in nursing * One (1) year RN experience in acute Med/Surg
