Job Description

As the Night shift Assembler, you will be responsible for assembling parts and components into finished products according to blueprints, diagrams, and other specifications. You will use hand tools, power tools, and other equipment to put together various components into a complete unit. Assemblers must follow strict quality control procedures to ensure the final product meets all requirements. This role is onsite, Mon - Thur., Hours are 3PM - 1:30AM

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, assembly prints, and schematics.
Operate machines or use hand tools and power tools to secure parts in place.
Install finished assemblies or subassemblies.
Assemble and attach functional and cosmetic hardware to assemblies using hand tools and power tools.
Perform functional/continuity tests on completed assemblies.
May prioritize work based on production schedule.
Perform the assembly, start up, and function test of equipment systems.
Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.

FACILITY RESPONSIBILITIES
Promotes and maintains single piece production assemblies and other electro/mechanical assemblies.
Install sub-assemblies to the final equipment per the diagram/ print.
Visual inspection of components to verify quality and correctness to the drawing.
Prepares materials for production: cutting, cleaning, spot welding, heat shrinking, handles two-part potting material for molding, silicon adhesives, lubricants, and flammable chemicals.
Crosstrain using related duties for use in other production areas as needed.
Maintains detailed quality documentation (Work Orders, Travelers, Process Data, Test Results, etc.).
Operate within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analysis (JSAs).
Maintains a safe, clean, and organized work environment using 5S principles.
Supports production improvement initiatives.
Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERINCE QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent GED
At least 1 year of experience in assembly production lines or a manufacturing environment required.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Safety Conscious. Willing to input process improvements.
Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.
Willingness to apply themselves what is needed to complete assigned projects in a timely manner with attention to detail.
Ability in using tools (i.e., clamps, power tools, heating tools) and small machines (i.e., heat guns, soldering stations, spot welder stations, air compressor tools, ovens, electrical test equipment, etc.).
o Dexterity and hand-eye coordination for using tools and assembling components.
Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Assembly personnel must be able to clearly recognize a Text Height of .0540" on blueprints and work instructions.
Assembly personnel must be able to recognize all colors within the visible spectrum in order to recognize various wiring and labeling specifications.

REQUIRED SKILLS
Good communication skills (verbal and written)
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and diagrams.
Basic Math Skills.
Basic Inspection Knowledge.
Experience using MS Office.
Firm understanding of lean manufacturing and 5S principles.
Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

PREFERRED SKILLS
Specialized training in industrial production setting, preferred.
Experience using Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Material Requirement Planning (MRP) systems such as JDE, Oracle or similar in a production environment.
Good understanding of quality control principles; experience applying procedures for detailed documentation of work orders, travelers, process data, test results, etc.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
To build equipment per print and company quality guidelines

WORKING CONDITIONS
Climate controlled shop floor.
Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment.
Work involves frequent lifting of materials and product up to 40 pounds.
Machinery operation requires the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to; eye safety glasses, hearing protectors, work boots, and hardhats.
Loose fitting clothes and jewelry are not permitted.
Standing 75% of the time
Some Overtime needed.
Works under immediate supervision.
