Schedule: Monday - Friday (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM)


Position Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineer will focus on developing and enhancing manufacturing processes by analyzing workflow, designing equipment, and implementing innovative solutions that improve production efficiency, product quality, and reduce costs. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams, including production, sales and product design, to ensure seamless operation of the manufacturing process.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead our ISO implementation and certification.
  • Design, document and implement manufacturing processes that meet production and quality standards (Standard work).
  • Utilize lean manufacturing principles to optimize workflow, reduce waste, and enhance productivity.
  • Organize, lead and document any kaizen events and implementation of improvements.
  • Identify areas for cost savings by improving process efficiencies and resource utilization.
  • Design, procure, and oversee the installation of machinery and equipment required for manufacturing.
  • Develop maintenance procedures and troubleshoot any operational issues.
  • Root cause analysis for production exceptions and ensures work processes are adjusted with the appropriate corrective action.
  • Maintain root cause analysis/exception reporting.
  • Use statistical methods and software tools to analyze production data and drive improvements in process control and product quality.
  • You are a member of the safety committee that ensures manufacturing processes comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Provide technical support and training for manufacturing staff on new equipment, processes, and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in manufacturing or industrial engineering or equivalent in years of work and experience.
  • 5 years in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Knowledge of ISO and Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Knowledge of SolidWorks.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems and Manufacturing software.
  • Strong ability to analyze and interpret data for process optimization.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for collaboration and reporting.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues effectively and implement innovative solutions.

Work Environment/ Physical Requirements

This role involves working in a production facility where the Manufacturing Engineer may be exposed to loud noises, machinery, and occasionally hazardous conditions. This may require the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety guidelines. Physical demands include extended periods of standing, stooping, walking, bending, and reaching. The role can also involve extended periods of sitting and computer work. The position may require lifting or moving items up to 50 pounds.
