Metro Services is looking to hire Tool & Die Technicians for a Manufacturing company in Wellington, OH. These are direct hire and temp/contract positions. Apply Now!

Duties for this position include:

  • Analyzes specifications, lays out metal stock, sets up and operates machine tools, and fits and assembles parts to fabricate and repair metalworking dies, cutting tools, jigs and fixtures, gauges, and machinists hand tools
  • Studies specifications such as blueprints, sketches, models, or descriptions, and visualizes products to determine materials required and machines to be used to fabricate parts
  • Computes dimensions, plans layout, and determines assembly method and sequence of operations
  • Measures, marks, and scribes metal stock for machining
  • Sets up and operates machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, and grinders to machine parts and verifies conformance of machined parts to specifications
  • Lifts machined parts and positions and secures parts on surface plate or work table
  • Smooths flat and contoured surfaces and power grinders, fits and assembles parts together and into assemblies and mechanisms
  • Verifies dimensions, alignments, and clearances, as well as, heat treats tools or parts
  • Develops specifications from general descriptions for specialty tools and draws or sketches design of product
  • Completes preventive maintenance work assignments to include work orders

Compensation (USD):

$26.00 - $31.00/hour depending on experience

Schedule:

Night Shift
Monday - Thursday
OT on Friday - Saturday
7:30 p.m. - 5:30 a.m.

All candidates must have an expert level of the following skillset:

  • Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Advanced mathematical concepts such as trigonometry, exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations
  • Apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factory analysis
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form

Successful candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Clean Background/Drug screen
  • Associate's degree from a two-year college or technical school
  • 5 years of experience and Journeyman’s Certification
