Manage plant SQF Program and HACCP Plan documentation, to include:

Maintain HACCP Program and SQF Quality Plan documentation as directed by QA Manager

Oversee Internal Audit Program with annual review of all SQF programs

Develop and maintain plant programs and procedures as directed by QA Manager

Oversee document control personnel to ensure programs are updated as required

Oversee plant quality assurance systems, to include:

GMP Audit Program and Locker Inspections

Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA)

Food safety training program

Environmental Monitoring Program (back up) MTA

Management Change Control Program

Glass & Brittle Plastic Program

Traceability and mock recall exercises (back up)

Inspection and disposition of DC product returns

Change Control and New / Refurbished Equipment programs

Participate in external customer and third-party plant audits, including:

Pre-audit requirements review and gap analysis checklists

Participate in audit process and provide responses and documentation

Coordinate and document corrective actions

Responsible for leading the review, documentation and corrective actions associated with plant inspections, contracted third party services and other events related to quality assurance, to include:

Documentation of pest control program, providing communication to pest control provider and coordinating and documenting corrective actions

Documentation of regulatory audits and inspections and coordinating and documenting corrective actions

Investigate and analyze quality problems, recommend solutions and ensure corrective actions are implemented and documented. Provide backup support for the Quality Assurance Manager, including:

Review of Corporate manuals, policies and procedures for compliance

Ingredient Manual including specifications, COA examples, shelf-life data, etc.

Certificates of conformance (COC) for all milk suppliers

Kosher Certificates for all applicable ingredients and products

Providing new-hire and annual refresher training in Food Safety Topics

Lead problem-solving efforts through the facilitation of team meetings and on-the-floor leadership to effectively influence positive change and continuous improvement. Lead plant efforts to eliminate foreign material, reduce customer complaints and verify process capability. Monitor product quality and production procedures within the plant to ensure quality and GMP standards are met by participating in procedure verification processes. Provides follow-up on special projects related to quality in assigned departments. Assists with the annual review and revision of SQF and HACCP programs in the plant. Interacts with and assists production personnel with quality issues. Provides instructions and guidance to production personnel as needed to ensure quality standards are met. Participates in plant inspections, customer or third-party audits, customer investigations and trending customer complaints as directed. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Dairy Manufacturing, Dairy Science, Food Science or Business Management is required or equivalent combination of education, training and experience, in a dairy manufacturing environment
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in QA. Previous Lead of Supervisor experience is a plus
  • HACCP Certification and SQF Certification is highly recommended
  • Ability to effectively interact with and provide instruction and guidance to QA administration employees.
  • Ability to write procedures and perform sound document management practices.
  • Self-motivated and a self-starter
  • Proficient in computer spreadsheet programs, e.g. MS Word, Excel and SAP, and able to interpret the information generated.


Pay range

$58,670-$88,000
