YOUR OPPORTUNITY As the Senior Accounting Manager for Zegna, you will play a key role within the accounting group, working closely with the local and global Accounting teams. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Oversight of all Accounting staff that will report into this role, inclusive of necessary coaching, providing and delivering recurring feedback, and collaborating with HR as needed Accuracy of the financial statements; monthly reviews of data generating the financial statement information, including data from system sources as well as manual calculations Lead month-end and year-end closing activities include preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring timely completion of close Submissions of final numbers in alignment with the required timeline communicated by the parent entity's Finance department General oversight and understanding of the primary business processes and how data is feeding into the financial statements Revenue, payroll, leases, intercompany, treasury Import and reconcile US payroll along with making adjusting entries at month end Update SAP Real Estate (lease module) with new leases amendments and manage the Journal entries for IFRS16 Reconciliation of all intercompany transactions between all Zegna companies Importing of all T&E files into SAP, perform reclass entries, and reconciling the general ledger accounts Prepare sales reports for variable rent and submit to landlords Book variable rent journal entry for the concessions, book sales accrual for current month, create invoices in SAP with actuals allowing AR to clear payment Partner directly with external tax consultants, organize and verify the preparation of requested schedules, review completed tax returns and provide feedback for approval. Perform monthly account analysis, including accruals and prepaid and variance explanations Analyze and record monthly general ledger activity for various P&L and Balance Sheet accounts Prepare monthly trial balance for analytical review in tandem with submission of final numbers Assist in the monthly compilation of internal financial statements for corporate management Prepare and file sales tax for 35 states on a monthly/quarterly basis. Prepare use tax schedules for self-assessment. Act as the liaison for financial audits and tax audits with external auditors on an annual basis Assist in the preparation and coordination of audits by providing necessary financial information and responding to auditor inquiries Become proficient the retail register system, as well as the retail reporting tool Develop and maintain accounting processes and procedures to improve efficiency Ownership of or assistance in other special projects as needed Provide administrative support to the finance department including assistance with ad hoc projects, financial reporting, and general reconciliation tasks BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required Prior sales tax experience is a must IFRS 16 and SAP knowledge is a must Strong computer skills: Excel a must; BPC, AS 400 and Cognos are a plus Highly detail-oriented and organized Analytical and problem-solving skills Ability to meet a constant stream of deadlines Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with different levels in the organization PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience with reporting packages and schedules for financial closings Rent related expense management is a must Experience with SOX or internal controls Industry experience from retail or consumer goods is preferred Salary expectations: $130,000k-$140,000k
