Job Description

Akkodis is seeking a Sr. Director of Database Managed Services for a direct hire and full-time remote role. Qualified candidates will have 10+ years of experience in database management plus 5 years in a leadership role. The Senior Director of Database Managed Services will lead and oversee the database management team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality managed services to our clients.

Salary Range: $160K plus bonus, salary negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors

Senior Director of Database Managed Services job responsibilities include:

Strategic leadership with extensive technical expertise in various database technologies and a proven track record in people leadership and managed service environments.
Lead and manage the Database Managed Services team, providing direction, mentorship, and support to ensure high performance and professional growth.
Develop and implement strategic plans for database management services, aligning with company goals and client needs.
Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of database systems, ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability.
Collaborate with clients to understand their database requirements and provide tailored solutions that meet their business objectives.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for database management and security.
Manage budgets, resources, and timelines for database projects, ensuring efficient and effective delivery.
Stay current with emerging database technologies and trends, integrating relevant advancements into service offerings.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence within the team.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in database management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
Extensive technical expertise in multiple database technologies, including but not limited to Oracle, SQL, NoSQL, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB. DataBricks and Snowflake is a plus.
Customer-facing experience is required.
Ability to travel 25% of the time within the East Coast and Midwest.
Proven experience in a managed service provider (MSP) environment is desirable.
Strong people leadership skills, with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
