About This Role
As the Director of Corporate IT at Writer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the policies, procedures, and culture that support our rapid growth and our lightning-fast pace of innovation. While you won't be stepping into a crisis, you will have the opportunity to identify and implement fundamental improvements that will help us scale from a company of 300 to several thousand employees globally.
This role reports to the Head of Infrastructure.

Your Responsibilities
- Budget and Staff Management: Oversee the IT budget and manage a growing team, ensuring resources are allocated efficiently and effectively.
- Hiring and Development: Recruit, train, and mentor new IT staff to build a high-performing and inclusive team.
- Vendor Management: Manage third-party vendors, including their approval and compliance, to ensure they meet our standards and contribute to our success.
- Project Leadership: Lead and manage IT projects and initiatives, ensuring they align with our strategic goals and are delivered on time and within budget.
- System Performance and Security: Monitor and enhance the performance, security, and compliance of our IT systems and services.
- Effective Communication: Maintain clear and consistent communication with senior management, stakeholders, and users to ensure alignment and transparency.
- IT Support and Solutions: Provide guidance, support, and innovative solutions for all IT needs and issues.
- Trends and Innovations: Stay ahead of industry trends and innovations, implementing best practices that improve Writer's operations and foster a positive IT culture.
- Technology Oversight: Manage and oversee IT systems, hardware (e.g., MacBooks, iPhones, Android devices), and software, including Google Workspace, Chrome Enterprise Premium, Rippling MDM, and SentinelOne security tools.
☆ Is This You?
- Experience: 10+ years in IT, with expertise in hardware, software, networks, databases, security, cloud computing, and other relevant domains.
- Leadership: 5+ years of experience leading, coaching, and building high-performing teams.
- Enterprise Tools: Hands-on experience with enterprise-level tools such as Google Workspace, Chrome Enterprise Premium, Rippling MDM, and SentinelOne.
- Vendor Contracts: Proven ability to negotiate and manage vendor contracts, achieving significant cost savings on annual software and hardware expenditures.
- Security Protocols: Experience in developing and implementing security protocols to enhance compliance audit scores.
- Budget Management: Demonstrated experience managing IT budgets of at least $1M annually.
- Education: A degree in information systems, computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Skills: Excellent communication, leadership, and teamwork skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and collaborate across different departments.
- Mindset: A strategic thinker with a customer-oriented approach and a passion for continuous learning and innovation.
