We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Director of Finance in Emeryville, California. As a key member of our team, your role will involve overseeing the financial operations, implementing accounting systems, and managing budgeting processes.


Responsibilities:

  • Lead financial planning and analysis for global Dx plants.
  • Prepare monthly and ad-hoc reports to track performance, budgets, forecasts, and operational metrics.
  • Provide financial support to Plant Heads and lead financial reviews at management meetings.
  • Challenge business assumptions to ensure reasonable budgets and forecasts; advise on resource allocation.
  • Oversee financial audits of manufacturing processes and partnerships.
  • Manage accounting for joint business partnerships and collaborate on planning and analysis.
  • Support global Diagnostics Capex planning with the international office.
  • Provide financial modeling for new industrial businesses and strategic initiatives.
  • Assess cost efficiencies and operational effectiveness.
  • Ensure accurate cost capture and reasonable budget assumptions with Industrial personnel.
  • Collaborate on optimizing inventory, manufacturing costs, and supply chain expenses.
  • Coordinate with corporate functions to ensure proper service allocations.
  • Lead/support strategic growth projects (acquisitions, integrations, divestitures, system implementations).

Financial Systems

  • Improve systems for planning, capturing, and analyzing manufacturing expenses; lead costing methodology.
  • Develop efficiencies and improvements in financial data analysis and reporting.
  • Work with IT to adapt systems to meet business structure changes.

General

  • Lead and develop the Industrial Finance team (6-8 individuals across 6 plants).
  • Improve SAP financial controlling systems across Diagnostics plants.
  • Continuously enhance the quality of service from the Diagnostics Finance function.

  • MBA or Master’s Degree in Finance required; relevant experience may be accepted in place of a Master’s
  • 10+ years of relevant experience with an MBA or Master’s Degree in Finance
  • 5+ years of people management experience
