We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Director of Finance in Emeryville, California. As a key member of our team, your role will involve overseeing the financial operations, implementing accounting systems, and managing budgeting processes.
Responsibilities:
- Lead financial planning and analysis for global Dx plants.
- Prepare monthly and ad-hoc reports to track performance, budgets, forecasts, and operational metrics.
- Provide financial support to Plant Heads and lead financial reviews at management meetings.
- Challenge business assumptions to ensure reasonable budgets and forecasts; advise on resource allocation.
- Oversee financial audits of manufacturing processes and partnerships.
- Manage accounting for joint business partnerships and collaborate on planning and analysis.
- Support global Diagnostics Capex planning with the international office.
- Provide financial modeling for new industrial businesses and strategic initiatives.
- Assess cost efficiencies and operational effectiveness.
- Ensure accurate cost capture and reasonable budget assumptions with Industrial personnel.
- Collaborate on optimizing inventory, manufacturing costs, and supply chain expenses.
- Coordinate with corporate functions to ensure proper service allocations.
- Lead/support strategic growth projects (acquisitions, integrations, divestitures, system implementations).
Financial Systems
- Improve systems for planning, capturing, and analyzing manufacturing expenses; lead costing methodology.
- Develop efficiencies and improvements in financial data analysis and reporting.
- Work with IT to adapt systems to meet business structure changes.
General
- Lead and develop the Industrial Finance team (6-8 individuals across 6 plants).
- Improve SAP financial controlling systems across Diagnostics plants.
- Continuously enhance the quality of service from the Diagnostics Finance function.

- MBA or Master’s Degree in Finance required; relevant experience may be accepted in place of a Master’s
- 10+ years of relevant experience with an MBA or Master’s Degree in Finance
- 5+ years of people management experience
