Job Description
We are on the search for a VP of Finance to be an integral part of our team in the manufacturing industry, based in South Overland Park. The chosen individual will lead the finance function, focusing on financial performance and continuous improvement initiatives across multiple manufacturing sites across the US. Multi-site experience is a must, along with a willingness to travel 20-25% to locations across the US. Responsibilities
• Oversee all financial operations across various manufacturing plants, including financial planning, analysis, and reporting.
• Develop financial strategies to meet organizational objectives and business goals.
• Manage profit and loss for multiple manufacturing sites, focusing on profitability and cost optimization.
• Conduct financial performance reviews with plant leaders, emphasizing cost control, margin improvement, and productivity gains.
• Develop and monitor financial KPIs to assess site performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Oversee standard cost accounting, ensuring accuracy of costing models and the appropriate allocation of direct and indirect costs.
• Manage inventory controls and valuation processes, maintaining compliance with company standards and financial integrity.
• Work closely with operations and plant managers to identify cost-saving opportunities, improve productivity, and optimize inventory management.
• Lead process improvement initiatives across financial operations, focusing on increasing efficiency, streamlining processes, and reducing waste.
• Manage and mentor a team of finance professionals, providing guidance, development, and coaching to ensure high performance.
• Applicant should have substantial experience, ideally 15 years or more, in a finance role within the manufacturing industry
• Proficiency in managing profit and loss statements is essential
• Experience with KPI reporting is required
• Strong understanding and experience in Standard Cost Accounting is a must
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field is required, advanced degree or certification is preferred
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a team
• Strong analytical, strategic planning and communication skills are necessary
• In-depth knowledge of financial regulations and accounting processes is required
• Ability to work collaboratively with other departments and executive teams
• High proficiency in financial software programs and office productivity tools
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses
• Familiarity with financial forecasting and risk analysis is preferred.
