POSITION OVERVIEW

The Sanitation Supervisor oversees and directs the activities of Sanitors, ensuring compliance to Sara Lee Frozen Bakery and regulatory standards so SLFB products meet company and customer specifications, and providing support to all cross functional teams of the bakery. The position is responsible for supporting various programs such as SQF, Quality & Standard Sanitation Operating Programs (SSOP).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The Production Supervisors are responsible for delivering operational targets and leading teams. Additional responsibilities will include:

    • Supervise sanitation department hourly employees providing direction and coaching regarding Sanitation.
    • Coordinate overall Sanitation department duties with FSQA Manager.
    • Maintain chemical inventory control system.
    • Perform weekly inventory of sanitation chemicals and non-chemical supplies.
    • Ensure effective cleanliness of equipment and facilities in all production and non-production areas.
    • Schedule work flow for plant sanitation functions on each shift.
    • Establish and maintain good working relationships with Production, Receiving, Maintenance, QA and other departments within the plant.
    • Maintain repair schedules on all sanitation equipment (foamers, scissor lifts etc.).
    • Facilitate and lead team meetings.
    • Champion new initiatives that result in meeting and exceeding aggressive performance targets.
    • Promote good employee relations to maintain a positive working environment.
    • Establish a safe work environment, recognizing and considering all potential hazards.
    • Perform within environmental safety and GMP guidelines.
    • Coach through demonstration and feedback to team members.
    • Drive accountability and discipline within the team members. A trained designee will be appointed by plant management to cover for absences or vacancies.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate degree required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Sanitation/Environmental Studies or related field preferred, along with 1-3 years manufacturing and management experience OR other education in related field with 3-5 years of experience and/or training OR Equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Must have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory capacity in an industrial setting preferably in Food Plant Sanitation.
  • Must be familiar with regulatory (Federal and State) requirements of Food Plant Sanitation.
  • Must be familiar with industrial sanitation chemicals and cleaning methods (CIP, COP, other automated systems, Etc.)
  • Must have sound knowledge of SSOPs and company GMPs.
  • Must have strong communication skills.
  • Must have strong organizational and leadership skills.
  • Able to work with cross functional departments within the organization.
  • Good problem-solving skills.
  • Strong computer skills with experience using Word, Excel, Access, Power Point.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be willing and to wear personal protective equipment while performing job. (i.e. safety glasses, ear plugs, bump cap, hair net, steel toe & slip resistant safety/rubber boots, sanitation gloves, goggles, face shield etc.).
  • Must be willing and able to work in hot (up to 102 degrees Fahrenheit) for intervals of 45 minutes.
  • Must be willing and able to work in cold and/or wet environments of a minimum of 0 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Must be willing and able to constantly stand, stoop, walk, bend, push or pull for duration of shift, which may last up to 12 hours.
  • Must be willing and able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be willing and able to work in Production or Warehouse storage areas.
  • Must be willing and able to climb ladders/stairs.
