What You'll Be Doing

• Build new tools, dies, fixture and parts from blueprints, sketches, reference parts or instructions.
• Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearance of finished parts for conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers and dial indictors.
• Set up and operate conventional or computer numerically controlled machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, grinders, welders and drill presses.
• Initiate and perform preventive maintenance on tool and dies to keep them in working order.
• Fit and assemble parts to make, repair or modify dies, fixtures and tools.
• Perform repairs on dies, fixtures and tools.
• Support production by making new tooling in a timely, precise manner.
• Work with production on all tooling issues.
• Modify tooling and weld fixtures.
• Support 6S and CI projects.
• Support safety projects.
 

What You'll Bring

• High School diploma or equivalent experience and 18-24 months of vocational training in tool and die making (not required but preferred).
• Ability to use precision measuring equipment
• Two years’ experience building tools and dies preferred. 
• Knowledge of Proto-Trac Mills, machines and tools, including their designs, uses, maintenance and repair

• Toolmaking knowledge
• Analytical ability
• Good judgement skills
• Math proficiency
• Communication skills: reading, writing
• Ability to read blueprints
• Ability to identify problems and propose solutions

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $46,400 - $69,600 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, commission, and/or long-term incentive.
