Summary: 32BJ Health Fund is looking for a Health Data Analyst that will play a crucial role in analyzing complex data sets to help inform business decisions and drive strategic initiatives. You will work closely with various departments to identify trends, create reports, and provide actionable insights primarily related to claims data. You will needs to be passionate about working with structured and unstructured data, be flexible in dealing with ambiguity and be comfortable analyzing and solving discrepancies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support the Health Fund’s commitment and mission of improving lives of 32BJ members.
  • Collect, clean, and analyze data from various sources to support business decision-making.
  • Use statistical methods to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in data sets.
  • Create and present reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate findings to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams within the health fund, vendors and partners to understand their data needs and provide analytical support.
  • Investigate performance of Fund’s vendors and partners to improve patient care.
  • Design and implement data collection processes and tools.
  • Stay up to date with the latest industry trends, tools, and technologies in data analysis.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required

  • At least one (1) year of work experience programming using healthcare claims, or healthcare industry data sources.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software such as SQL, R, Python, Excel, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, QlikView)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and comfortable working with unstructured data.
  • Strong writing and presentation skills with the ability to express analysis in simple to understand language and visuals.

  • Detail oriented with excellent organizational and analytical skills
  • Curious to understand and pursue outlying data points and to clarify opaque findings
  • Eager to find insights in the data and to effectively share findings
  • Highly communicative and collaborative – must love working in a team environment
  • Ability seek support when needed, communicate timelines and meet deadlines

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.

Language Skills: Fluent in English
