Position Summary:
This position oversees the manufacturing process and quality procedures of Purkeys products to include design for manufacture input, internal manufacturing process improvement and implementation, as well as management of contract manufacturer policies and procedures. This position will work closely with the design engineering, production, and warranty/technical support teams to assure the highest quality customer experience with our products.
Responsibilities:
- Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing and quality assurance processes
- Trouble shoot production/manufacturing issues and work directly with the Engineering team to resolve quality or production issues
- Assist Engineering in the design and production of new products and technologies.
- Support the Operations Manager in driving process improvements
- Train new and existing staff on manufacturing processes
- Work collaboratively across departments to drive business operational excellence.
- Produce three-dimensional product and tool designs as needed
- Create and review Exploded view assembly drawings
- Support Design Revision Management including replacement parts pages creation and revisions
- Support Manufacturing Instruction Creation including: Assembly checklist and notes for work instructions
- Identify special manufacturing tooling requirements and specify equipment to be procured or built.
- Design, build and implementation of Assembly jigs
- Determine quality metrics for all manufacturing procedures
- Manage Engineering Change Orders/Support requests
- Support new product development team by providing design input
- Support the creation of product documentation
- Develop and maintain relationships with contract manufacturers
- Work with Technical Service/Warranty to provide reporting on product failures; perform root cause analysis
Experience & Education:
- ABET accredited Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related Engineering fields
- 3+ years of manufacturing engineering experience required
- Experience building electrical mechanical devices is preferred
- New product launch experience a plus
- Experience using Solidworks or equivalent software
- Strong Collaboration skills

Work Hours:
8am- 5pm (Monday - Friday).

Starting Salary:
TBD – Based on Experience.
