Job Description

Primary Purpose of the Job

The Production Supervisor (Night Shift) opening is in our Kawneer business in Bloomsburg, PA. We are the leading manufacturer of architectural aluminum products and systems for the commercial construction industry. Kawneer is part of Arconic's global Building and Construction Systems (BCS) business unit, which manufactures and markets architectural systems and products in North America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

In this role, your primary responsibility would be to manage employees/process, work with peers to make quick quality decisions to move product through the plant, led by example, and be accountable for crew performance and practices by monitoring production, information flow paths and production rates to ensure objectives are being met.

Schedule: Two-week rotating schedule, 6:00pm-6:00am (1st week: Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, and Sunday & 2nd week: Wednesday, Thursday, Friday)

  • Manage, lead, and be accountable for the crew's environmental, health, and safety performance and practices. Lead EHS initiatives throughout the organization.
  • Lead and engage hourly teams in process improvement and rapid problem-solving activities; Resolve conflict; coach and counsel employees. Expectations of 25-50% of time spent coaching/interacting with production employees.
  • Monitoring performance and implementing corrective actions to meet goals.
  • Solving problems to the root to prevent a recurrence.
  • Effectively communicating with others within and outside the work group.
  • Maintain all production and related quality assurance records for designated area and shift '
  • Responsible for meeting or exceeding production goals including production output, safety, on time delivery, and people initiatives within a traditional unit supervisor role.
  • Effectively and consistently enforce workplace rules, policies, procedures, and labor agreement
  • Direct the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives (lean manufacturing) including 5S, standardized work, work balance, product flow and TPM improvements.
  • Plan, manage, and execute departmental operating plans and tactical operations, including scheduling, crew assignments, and overtime.
  • Demonstrate commitment to servicing the customer.
  • Work with internal and external (when applicable) customers and suppliers to communicate expectations and priorities.
  • Other duties as needed to meet business objectives

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/GED from an accredited institution
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position

Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate or bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
  • Supervisor experience in a unionized environment.
  • Excellent people and leadership skills as well as a demonstrated analytical aptitude.
  • Experience with continuous improvement techniques.
  • Results oriented and data driven.
  • Self-directed, customer-focused individual.
  • Demonstrated computer skills, including MS Excel, Word, Access, Power Point, Outlook
