Sinch is seeking a Senior Counsel – North America (“NA”) in Sinch’s Legal Department as part of the North America region legal team reporting to the General Counsel, Americas. Sinch strongly prefers that this role will be located in Chicago, where we have a hybrid work schedule.
Responsibilities
- Provide general legal support and guidance to NA sales team, including supporting existing and new customers across Sinch’s broad product and service portfolio.
- Support Sinch’s customer and supplier contracting process by working with sales, procurement, and colleagues in other functional areas (e.g., tax) in connection with the negotiating, drafting, and handling master agreements, amendments, and related legal documentation.
- Be responsible for contract compliance with Sinch’s policies and applicable laws.
- Support data privacy as it relates to Sinch’s contracts (e.g., data protection addenda) and work with Sinch’s information security group and other Sinch employees on data protection matters.
- Independently or with senior management resolve complex issues and disputes.
- Exercise discretion and serve as the primary legal contact for assigned customers.
- Collaborate within the Sinch Legal Department and across business and staff functions to address legal and risk issues in a manner consistent with Sinch’s policies.
- Manage outside counsel and other service providers, as needed.
Qualifications
- J.D., with excellent academic credentials and a complimentary undergraduate degree
- Minimum of 5 years of legal experience, in a commercial law firm or as corporate counsel
- Ability and willingness to take a hands-on, lead role
- Willingness to advocate a position in ambiguous situations
- Ability to balance business and legal priorities
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks to deliver timely responses to internal and external clients
- Admission to the bar of at least one state
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and complex environment with a high degree of collaboration, including working directly with the sales organization and business, operational and other non-legal personnel on contracts and other matters.
- Self-starter, effectiveness without daily supervision, curiosity and eagerness to learn, adapt to change, and work in a fast-moving environment.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Superior organizational and analytical skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Experience with US telecommunications services contracts and/or regulations, preferred but not required.
Preferred
- Experience negotiating telecom or technology service agreements
- Background in regulatory law

The annual starting salary for this position is between $[157,336 - $196,670]. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications. This position is also eligible for bonus.
