Job Description
AECOM
has an immediate need for an
VP, Water Area Business Leader (ABL), Washington D.C/ Virginia , reporting to the DC Metro Regional Business Line Leader. This role will act as the leader of the Water business within the Washington D.C./Virginia Area, collaborating with Water leaders in the region, Client Account Managers and other stakeholders to coordinate all Water matters in the Washington D.C./Virginia Area with primary focus on the municipal market. The ideal candidate will act as the focal point of day-to-day communication between the area and sub-region to understand and communicate regional priorities, lead strategic Water bids and facilitate identification of future Water pursuits and provide oversight and ensure operational support to in-flight programs. This role will also play a critical part in the definition and implementation of the area Water growth strategy. About the Role Generally responsible for providing strategic leadership of the area’s municipal Water business. Act as day-to-day liaison between the Area and other regional Water leaders and the Water GBL team, providing regular feedback and facilitating wider conversations and partnering as appropriate. Accountable for setting and implementing business strategies, objectives, and financial outcomes. Advances the strategic direction of the business line and positions the business line for sustained and continued profitable growth consistent within the context of the strategic plan. Provides leadership within the region by communicating the strategy and objectives of the Water GBL. Participates in the development of region growth and business development strategy in collaboration with Water leaders, market sector leaders and account managers. Ensures the success and growth of the business line within the area. Sales and Growth Report and participate on all Water bids in the region. Own coordination of the forming of program teams as part of bids and mobilization. Work with the local team to analyze and understand long, medium- and short-term Water opportunities to advise strategic planning and pursuit prioritization. Water Operations Work with local program managers to understand, oversee and report on the ongoing performance of programs in delivery to identify where support may be required for both Water and Advisory opportunities. Responsible for profitability and client satisfaction. Responsible for area P&L including revenue generation, project margin achievement, DSO, G&A, project delivery, client satisfaction, staff utilization, safety, claims resolution and quality. Capability Development (People, Practice and Tools) Liaise with Strategic Resourcing Leaders and Human Resources to strategically manage Water resource levels and availability. Support the identification, pipelining, and succession planning for regional Water talent. Take a degree of responsibility for Water resources and application of Water/Water advisory methodologies in the region. Coordinate with regional digitization resources, where they exist. The ideal candidate for this role will: Demonstrate creativity, foresight, and mature judgment. Have a sound understanding of the Water market in the region. Provide engagement with Key clients and stakeholders. Qualifications Minimum Requirements: BA/BS Civil, Environmental or related degree, plus 12 years of water experience including 2 years of executive leadership. Extensive knowledge of the Eastern U.S. and North America water market. Significant prior experience in municipal, provincial, state or intergovernmental agency projects and business development, including working with officials to establish and achieve business and project goals. Proven experience in the successful management of business financials for engineering and consulting contracts. Extensive knowledge of the water, wastewater, water resources business and product offerings. Valid U.S. Driver's License and as a condition of employment, able to pass AECOM's motor vehicle records review. Preferred Qualifications: Master's (MS) in Engineering. Civil, Environmental, or related degree. 15 years of experience in the Water industry. Experience collaborating with other market sectors as necessary to support cross-discipline/business line/region collaboration. Ability to broad scan other water related end markets and to assist in strategy development. Agile response to fast paced, complex work environment and organizational change. Additional Information Relocation is not available for this position. Sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future for this position. Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $200,000.00 - $250,000.00.
