About the position

General Mills is seeking a Supply Chain Learning & Development Business Partner for the TNT Crust Manufacturing Facility located in Green Bay, WI. This newly created role presents a unique opportunity to develop and lead learning and development (L&D) initiatives for the TNT pizza crust plant, which was acquired in 2022. The primary focus of this position is to enhance the capabilities of site employees by collaborating with key stakeholders to identify performance improvement solutions, guiding learning strategies, and supporting the tools, technologies, and processes that facilitate effective learning. The successful candidate will be responsible for anticipating and responding to business needs, leading a team that creates learning experiences that are accessible at critical moments to maximize learning while minimizing training time. A distinctive aspect of this role is the opportunity to foster a sense of belonging by enabling learning in multiple languages, including English, Spanish, Somali, and Hmong. The individual will develop and manage the learning strategy for the site to achieve both site and business performance goals. This includes leading and managing the site's L&D team and training community of practice, partnering with various departments such as operations, maintenance, logistics, food safety, quality, and sanitation to create onboarding and training plans for new operators and mechanics. The role also involves overseeing the development of content for role-specific learning across all frontline operations in the plant, ensuring that resources are available in multiple languages to meet the diverse needs of team members. Additionally, the candidate will cultivate a culture that nurtures learning and development, promote a supportive learning ecosystem, and deploy learning technologies to enhance personalization and autonomy. Staying current with learning theories and continuously improving learning programs will be essential, as will measuring the value and effectiveness of these initiatives. The role also includes managing the site's L&D budget and spending strategy, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively to support the learning objectives of the organization.

Responsibilities

Develop and manage the learning strategy for the site to achieve site and business performance goals. Lead and manage the site's L&D team and training community of practice. Partner with the business to identify and implement solutions to address performance gaps. Collaborate with operations, maintenance, logistics, FSQ, and sanitation to develop onboarding and training plans for new operators and mechanics. Oversee content development for role-specific learning on all unit operations and for all frontline operations in the plant. Participate in the L&D community and business cluster to learn and grow together. Ensure resources such as content, materials, and direction are available in multiple languages for team members. Cultivate a culture that enables and nurtures learning and development. Promote and grow the learning ecosystem in which team members can grow and flourish as contributors to the business. Deploy learning technologies skillfully to support personalization and autonomy. Stay current with learning theory and apply it to continuously improve learning initiatives. Measure the value and effectiveness of learning programs and initiatives. Develop and manage the site's L&D budget and spending strategy.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Supply Chain, or other relevant fields. 3-5 years of learning & development, project/initiative leadership, or manufacturing operations experience. 2+ years of experience working in a manufacturing plant environment. Experience leading end-to-end learning and development strategies. Ability to assess needs, influence, collaborate, and deliver with cross-functional stakeholders. Strong verbal and written communication skills, group facilitation skills, and project management skills. Proven track record of leading large, complex projects using standard project management practices and tools. Ability to achieve results working autonomously. Knowledge and experience with a variety of learning delivery methods. Proficiency in budget management, data reporting, analytics, and sharing insights to influence action.

Nice-to-haves

Relevant L&D certifications highly valued. Ability to speak multiple languages a plus.
