Raytheon is looking for a combined Senior Program Protection Engineer for the System Security Engineering (SSE) Agile Release Train (ART). As a member of our elite SSE team, we want you to develop solutions to protect the Warfighter’s technology advantage. Systems Security Engineering creates holistic security solutions leveraging Program Protection and Cyber Security Management to support Program Protection Implementation and Cybersecurity on embedded weapons systems.
As a Program Protection software engineer, the candidate will be involved with software and firmware design, development, integration, and testing of real-time radar software. The candidate will be responsible for applying Cyber Security principles to the design and implementation of hardened Radar software applications. Our software applications are developed using C++ and Java programming languages on a variety of computing platforms running Linux or Unix operating systems.
This position is fulltime onsite in Tewksbury, MA.
What You Will Do:
Apply the latest technologies and be responsible for designing, implementing, debugging, and fixing problems with the Radar software applications.
Understand real-time software design and the performance implications associated with specific Cyber Security implementations.
Understand how their efforts affect the “big picture” of the radar system and be able to develop or review detailed solutions at the source code level.
Perform a servant-leader role for 6 multidisciplinary teams comprised of 50+ engineers based in the Software, Systems Design and Analysis, and System Integration and Test directorates.
Identify and resolve impediments across the Agile Release Train.
Facilitate and coordinate Scrum ceremonies such as PI Planning and ART Retrospectives.
Enable DevSecOps initiatives and continuous improvement efforts within the program and the ART.
Ensure coordination amongst other Agile Release Trains and Sub Cross Product Teams to verify dependencies were known and need dates communicated.
Coordinate with support directorates, such as Global Security Services and Digital Technologies, to ensure efficiency in development of the end product.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics and a minimum of 5 years of experience.
Experience with Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) and Application-Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs).
Experience with the Linux Operating System.
Experience with C/C++.
Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
Operating System Knowledge.
Understanding and extending the Linux Kernel via Kernel Modules.
Experience with the VxWorks or other Real-Time Operating Systems.
Experience with the application of, or knowledge of, Cryptography.
Scripting Languages like Python / Perl.
Java or other high-level languages.
Knowledge of other alternative computer architectures such as MIPS / PPC / ARM.
Use of the following software development tools/frameworks: Jenkins, CMake, Google Test, Google Protocol Buffers, GCC.
Experience working on embedded systems.
Experience working on Real-Time systems.
Experience in an Agile / DevOps environment.
