We are currently hiring a Senior RF Design Engineer who will be a key member within the GA-EMS Radar Technologies group. In this capacity, the Senior RF Design Engineer will lead RF designs and trade studies in support of new air and ground-based designs. The Senior RF Design Engineer will report to the Manager of Hardware Engineering within the Radar Technologies group.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Simulate and design RF circuits and subsystems for future air and ground-based systems including Transmit/Receive modules, up and down converters, and RF beamforming networks. Develop and maintain RF design requirements from high-level system performance specifications. Perform design trade studies including gain, output power, noise figure, cost, ease of manufacturing, etc. Perform bench-level evaluation and troubleshooting of RF designs and subsystems. Collaborate with the Hardware, Software, and Systems engineering teams to drive development of subsystems and assemblies. Represent the company at technical reviews, meetings and formal design reviews. Stay current with RF industry innovations, developments and trends. Job Qualifications: Typically requires a bachelor's degree, master's degree or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; eighteen or more years of experience with a bachelor's degree, sixteen or more years of experience with a master's degree, or thirteen or more years with a PhD. May substitute equivalent engineering experience in lieu of education. Demonstrates a detailed and extensive technical expertise and application of engineering principles, concepts, theory, and practice with the ability to organize, plan, schedule, conduct, and coordinate workloads to meet established deadlines or milestones with some experience in project leadership. Proven experience simulating and designing RF circuits, subsystems, and assemblies using tools such as MATLAB, ADS, HFSS, and/or CST. Proficient in RF measurement techniques and skilled in operating standard lab equipment, including network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, and other essential tools for precise signal testing and analysis. Strong working knowledge of RF PCB design and layout. Must possess the ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them accurately throughout a fast-paced, R&D environment. Must have strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills to effectively interface with other departments, customers, government representatives, and/or professionals. Must be customer focused and able to work on a self-initiated basis or in a team environment. Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance required. DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Demonstrated experience designing modules and subsystems for radars and/or Electronic Warfare systems. Demonstrated experience designing and optimizing antennas.
