SUMMARY:
Provides timely and accurate financial reporting, forecasting, and analysis for all aspects of the company's accounting and finance activities.
Duties And Responsibilities: Directs the accumulation, recording, preparation & reporting of financial data; prepares, analyzes, reconciles financial statements & related reports in a timely & accurate manner. Develops, interprets, and implements systems and processes to ensure timely financial reporting. Annual insurance review and renewals for employee benefits, automobile, general liability, workers comp, and miscellaneous policies. Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures. Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls. Coordinate the preparation of annual tax returns with outside CPA firm. Reviews and supervises monthly accounting close process including analytical review of the monthly operating results to ensure accurate accounting records are maintained. Preparation of quarterly financial statements and related footnotes. Coordinates all internal and external financial audits. Manages all accounting functions including but not limited to accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and company purchasing. Provides specialized analyses in support of all business functions. Provides analysis & evaluation of business strategies; assists with company strategic planning. Provides management with timely reviews of organization's financial status and progress. Provides day-to-day guidance and oversight of subordinates; actively works to promote and recognize performance. Keeps up to date on overall activities of the team, identifying problem areas and taking corrective actions. Accurate and timely production of all financial information. Proper analytical review of the asset operations from a balance sheet, income statement and cash flow perspective as well as an overall business perspective. Implements company's financial policies and procedures. Implement, document and maintain adequate and effective internal controls. Implement, document and maintain adequate and effective processes to improve the close and reporting cycles to ensure timely and accurate reporting. Responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations. Lead GAAP research, technical accounting conclusions and associated documentation for the business, as needed. Expected to lead change and to challenge the status quo. Assists with special projects as required. Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises 1-2 employees within the accounting department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. HR duties as needed.
Qualifications: Bachelors and/or Masters Degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting. The degree should be obtained from a well recognized university. C.P.A. is preferred but not required. 5+ years experience in the accounting and finance sector. 4+ years experience managing accountants and the accounting and finance process. 3+ years in a position equivalent to a controller or higher responsibilities. History of managing change effectively with a high level of communication. Strong written and verbal communication skills are mandatory. Ability to and experience in preparing and delivering concise, executive level summaries and presentations. High level of attention to detail. Internal control over financial reporting experience. Capable to manage multiple competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
