Job Title: Heavy Equipment OperatorJob DescriptionHeavy Equipment Operators run dozers, excavators, and rollers to prep earthwork for construction projects.ResponsibilitiesOperate heavy equipment such as dozers, rollers, and excavators without supervision.Prepare and manage earthwork for construction projects.Perform grading, leveling, trench digging, and utility installation.Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and maintain a safe working environment.Essential Skills3+ years of civil/site work construction experience.Proficiency in operating dozers, rollers, and excavators independently.OSHA 10 Certification.Experience in construction, heavy equipment operations, backhoe usage.Knowledge of earthwork, grading, leveling, trench digging, and utility installation.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in construction, civil work, and site management.Understanding of earthwork and grading techniques.Why Work Here?Enjoy year-round work with a company that has been in business for over 45 years and continues to grow. Join a premier underground civil/site/paving contractor in Syracuse.Work EnvironmentCandidates will work in teams ranging from 2-3 people to over 10, reporting to the project foreman. The shift starts at 7:00 am and finishes at 3:30 pm, with flexibility required for start and finish times. Overtime is common during the busy season, with potential for 10-15+ hours per week. Occasionally, overnight work may be required. Work will be performed 100% outside on large parking lots and non-highway roads, such as connecting roads in business parks or plazas. Candidates must be prepared to work in hot and sunny conditions.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Solvay, New York.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
