HR Generalist
Our client is a private Christian school in Durham, NC, looking for a Human Resources Generalist to manage a wide range of HR duties, including payroll, benefits, compensation, policy administration, and compliance. This role will support school leadership with people-related matters, adapting to the needs of the school on a daily basis .
This is a full time , direct hire position with a competitive base salary and benefits. There is no sponsorship or corp to corp arrangements for this role.

Key Responsibilities
- Benefits & Payroll: Administer benefits programs, coordinate open enrollments, and manage bi-monthly payroll.
- Policy & Compliance: Oversee FMLA, leave policies, PTO, and update the employee handbook. Ensure compliance with federal and state employment regulations.
- Compensation: Manage annual salary increases and new hire compensation.
- Records & Reporting: Maintain employee records and handle compliance reporting.
- Assist with faculty and staff recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding.
- Serve as the HRIS (Paycom) expert.
- Provide guidance on personnel policies and answer HR inquiries.
- Manage internal HR communications and maintain benchmark data.
- Bachelor's degree in HR, business, or related field.
- Experience in HR, ideally in a K-12 school setting.
- PHR or SHRM certification is a plus .
- HRIS experience , Paycom preferred .
- Strong HR knowledge with expertise in state and federal regulations.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- A clear Christian testimony and alignment with the school's mission and values.
