Description

Reporting to the Director of Administrative Operations, the Executive Secretary performs clerical tasks for law school faculty members.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Types letters, class materials, outlines, reports, and exams.
  • Assists patrons and visitors via phone and email.
  • Maintains calendar and schedules appointments.
  • Assists with travel, reception, and conference arrangements.
  • Acts as a liaison between faculty and students.
  • Assists faculty with tasks including emailing and posting class announcements and supplemental materials.
  • May assist with administering class evaluations.
  • May perform other duties not specifically identified above, but which require the same degree of skills, and which are normally included within the above job title.
Hours: Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm.

Subject to bumping

Qualifications
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel and Outlook required.
  • Must be detail oriented and have excellent judgment and organization skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and work on own initiative.
  • Possess professional telephone manner, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with PowerPoint and Canvas platform preferred.

Salary/Salary Range
$36,830

Hofstra University provides the above salary* as a good faith estimate of the starting pay range which considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience and education.
