Compensation: Non-exempt, $20.80/HR-$29.95/HR

Job Summary:
Responsible for answering the telephone, receptionist duties, registering patients, scheduling appointments with appropriate health care provider, entering demographic and financial data into patient record, maintaining record systems, collecting statistical information, and providing support to clinic or hospital staff. Responsible for management of referrals and tracking visits for optimum utilization. Provides a "Patients First" experience and supports a positive workplace by maintaining a professional work environment while completing all assigned tasks in a timely and accurate manner.

Job Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Performs a wide variety of reception, clerical and administrative duties, including answering the telephone, registering patients, entering demographic and financial data into patient record, and maintaining records and systems.
  2. Manages daily appointment schedules; schedules appointments with appropriate health care providers.
  3. Interacts with payers and subcontracted providers to facilitate service authorization and payment.
  4. Completes and updates statistical reports on a daily/weekly/monthly basis for clinic or hospital leadership.
  5. Collaborates with other healthcare professionals as necessary to ensure smooth continuous care of the patients.
  6. Uses computers and other basic office equipment to perform tasks.
  7. Participates in staff meetings, patient care meetings, educational in-services, caregiver orientation and other professional activities. Maintains awareness of policies and procedures and performance standards.
  8. Consistently demonstrates MGH values and provides all patients/customers with an excellent service experience.
  9. Other duties as assigned.


Required Education and Experience:
  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Physician or Rehab office experience with patient scheduling preferred.


Required Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations:
  1. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or within 180 days of hire.
