You will be responsible for driving efficiency, ensuring compliance with FDA regulations, and fostering a positive work environment for the production team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily production activities, ensuring efficient operations and adherence to production schedules.
- Manage and mentor a production team across multiple shifts, with 20 direct reports during peak season.
- Ensure compliance with FDA regulations and food safety standards; familiarity with USDA standards is a plus.
- Develop production schedules, labor plans, and manage purchasing requirements.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
- Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and other production metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with the maintenance team to ensure all equipment is functioning properly and safely.
- 5+ years of experience in food manufacturing, ideally in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of FDA regulations and food safety protocols; USDA experience is an advantage.
- Proven experience leading production teams, preferably across multiple shifts.
- Experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Proficient in Excel and data analysis for tracking production metrics.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
