Join Purdue University Fort Wayne:
We are currently seeking a full-time, on-site, Custodian in our Building Services department. This position maintains and performs custodial duties within assigned university building area(s). The pay for this position is $13/hr.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Provide daily general cleaning duties in assigned area that includes - classrooms, offices, labs, restrooms, stairwells, and hallways.
- Trash removal.
- Floor care - sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, stripping and refinishing floors, carpet cleaning
- Assist with special event set-up and removal of tables and chairs.
- Ensure adequate supplies are in stock.
- Perform routine facility and equipment inspections and inform supervisor of needed repairs.
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- Ability to operate commercial floor care equipment and climb ladders.
- Move, lift, carry, push and pull 10 to 25 pounds frequently and up to 40 pounds occasionally.
- Knowledge of commercial cleaning methods, materials and equipment.
