Job: Assistant Director of Sports

Hours: Sunday through Thursday; Friday and Saturday as needed; Hours Vary

Position Reports to: Sports Director


The Marcus Jewish Community Center of Atlanta is seeking an Assistant Director of Sports. Our sports program serves over 1500 athletes annually as well as 100+ coaches and volunteers. The ideal candidate needs to have strong administrative and interpersonal skills. The position requires energy, creativity, professionalism, problem solving skills and a passion for working with young athletes and their families.


Maccabi:

· Manage Maccabi Season timeline to be sure all deadlines are met

· Recruit coaches and athletes each season

· Organize pre and post event programs

· Work with marketing on program outreach (flyers, social media, recruiting, etc)

· Be sure all family’s complete registrations in regpak, campdoc, & traction

· Attend games each year

· Design & order SWAG and Uniforms


Adult Sports:

· Work with commissioners to be sure each season starts on time and is a success

· Create schedules for each program and season

· Complete standings for each program and season

· Order jerseys

· Coordinate with referees

· Hire & train scorekeepers

· Order supplies and oversee equipment inventory


Young Adult Sports:

· Lead and oversee new young adult committee

· Research and implement new programming

· Recruit new players for the programs

· Work with marketing on program outreach (flyers, social media campaign, etc)


Youth Sports:

· Oversee TeamSnap app or another league software app (schedules, standings, player input)

· Send welcome emails and help with email communication

· Input program entries into our online registration system

· Design and write program confirmation emails

· Assist in marketing and phone campaigns to recruit players

· Design and implement new process for securing family feedback

· Teach classes as needed with other staff members

· Generate reports and log registration numbers

· Meet families, be visible at programs and events, build community relationships

· Research and suggest future programming based on feedback from families and program trends

· Create calendars and checklists for seasonal programs to help keep team on task and on schedule
