Responsibilities of the Mailroom Associate include, but are not limited to:
  • Sort and deliver incoming mail
  • Process all outgoing mail, including UPS
  • Daily sorts and weighs all outgoing mail; affix appropriate postage using postage meter
  • Sort and fold using mail inserting machine; weigh for mailing; process with outgoing mail
  • Receive daily all incoming mail, interdepartmental mail, notices, and memoranda; sort according to appropriate destination; distribute to all hospital departments
  • Relieve receptionist when needed
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications of the Mailroom Associate include, but are not limited to:
  • Ability to accurately sort and distribute large amounts of mail
  • Ability to read and understand written and oral instructions
  • Ability to organize tasks and time to ensure timely completion of all projects
  • Must have a high level of attention to detail
  • Computer/keyboarding experience
  • Ability to work independently
  • Organization skills
  • Able to multi-task
  • Switchboard experience is preferred

Additional Information:

Physical Demand:
  • Ability to lift and/or carry or otherwise move packages on a standard wheeled cart
  • Ability to walk, bend, kneel, stand, and/or sit for an extended period of time
  • Ability to lift or move 40 lbs. or greater frequently
