Castle Rock Medical Center is looking for an As-Needed Radiology Technician to join the team.

Summary of Job

Performs radiological imaging examinations of patients skillfully to capture useful, high-quality diagnostic images. Radiologic technologists work closely with radiologists, physicians, and facility staff and must be able to communicate calmly, compassionately, and professionally with all different types of patients and all Castle Rock Medical Center staff.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Receive and verify orders from outside and in-house physicians.
  • Prepare patient for radiologic procedure by gathering patient information, communication preparation including removal of garments or jewelry that may interfere with procedure.
  • Position patients and equipment to perform x-rays and DXA scans requested by physicians.
  • Positions patient properly to obtain optimal images to prevent patient from being exposed to unnecessary radiation.
  • Ensures proper image identification on all images and creates x-ray CD copies.
  • DICOM each exam on PACS with complete patient history and prior comparison exams for radiologist interpretation.
  • Ensure patient demographics are provided to Medial Imaging Associates for billing of radiology interpretation.
  • Apply radiation safety measures and protective devices to ensure safety of patients and team members.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential patient medical records.
  • Perform Daily QA phantom scan on DXA equipment.
  • Perform Bi-annual QA of Lead Shields and foam positioners.
  • Complete an ABN for all Medicare DXA exams and verify proper DX codes assigned.
  • Keeps department in state of cleanliness.
  • Performs other related duties as necessary.
  • Adheres to HIPAA compliance representing Castle Rock Hospital District.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma/GED required.
  • State of Wyoming Radiology Technologist license with yearly renewal.
  • Approved American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT); maintain CE credits.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR certification required.
  • DEXA experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of electronic health record systems preferred.
Wage & Benefits:
  • The pay scale starts at $25.28/hour and up, depending on experience.
