Adelphi is seeking Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC) to provide counseling services to mental health and or IDD residents at a facility in Harlingen Texas. The ideal candidate shall cover the full spectrum of emotional/mental health counseling services. This is not a telehealth position.

Requirements:
• Licensed Professional Counselor (by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors)
• Master's or doctoral degree in counseling or a counseling-related field from an accredited institution.
• American Heart Association - approved course in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
• Must be bilingual (English and Spanish)
Responsibilities:
• provide as needed counseling services to mental health and or IDD residents.
• Cover the full spectrum of emotional/mental health counseling services as requested by the Interdisciplinary Team in facility or community provider.
• Perform an evaluation of recommended treatment of each IDT referred resident and confirm where services will be completed based on the resident's need.
• Work with dually diagnosed patients, mental health, in a residential section, not outpatient clinic.
• Counseling services can include but not limited to:
• Provide initial assessment.
• Provide individual counseling.
• Provide family counseling.
• Provide grief counseling.
• Provide anger management.
• Must maintain sexual appropriateness.
• Abide with agency attendance and leave policy.
• Will abide by the rules, regulations, and policies of Facility and perform other duties as assigned.
• Will complete assigned duties in accordance with the duties assigned to permanent Licensed Professional Counselors of the Facility.
• Develop mental health treatment plans to serve as the basis for treatment.
• Perform care consistent with the scope of licensure and in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Any other duties as assigned.
