Job Title: CAD Services Specialist

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Location: Joint Base Lewis-McChord, WA

Salary: $50 - $75/Hr.

SUMMARY

The CAD Services Specialist will provide support for Computer-Aided Drawing (CAD) activities, including managing engineering record drawings, updating floor plans, and providing custom map and drawing services for special projects. This role involves working with AutoDesk software products to ensure accurate and up-to-date CAD documentation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage the Engineering Record Drawing Repository, both physical and virtual.
  • Update as-built drawings, modify floor plans, and maintain standard maps and atlases.
  • Provide CAD support for special projects, including creating custom maps and drawings.
  • Offer informal and formal training for PW users of AutoDesk software (CAD, Rivet BIM, and Civil 3D).
  • Operate and maintain large-format printers and scanners for CAD projects.
  • Perform fieldwork to verify the accuracy of drawings and ensure compliance with project specifications.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Proficiency in AutoDesk software products, including AutoCAD, Rivet BIM, and Civil 3D.
  • Strong knowledge of CAD data management and project documentation.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in drafting and design.
  • Ability to conduct field verification and apply findings to CAD drawings.
  • Good communication skills for training and collaboration with PW personnel.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Drafting, or a related field.
  • CAD certification preferred.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in CAD services and support.
  • Experience working with Army CAD standards is a plus.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Office setting with occasional fieldwork for project verification.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Ability to handle large-format printing and scanning equipment. Capability to perform field verification activities.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK

Full-time, 40 hours per week. Standard work hours are 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

Regular commute to primary work location is not considered travel. Occasional travel may be required to conduct fieldwork at alternate JBLM sites.

CLEARANCE/LICENSE REQUIREMENTS
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance in accordance with DoD regulations.
  • Compliance with all JBLM and DoD cybersecurity and information assurance protocols is mandatory.
