NOTES: 180 Day contract / Benefits with a 20 hours a week / Earn between $14.07-$19.57(based on years of experience and shift) / 4 paid holidays

TITLE: Cafeteria Worker - Full-Time

QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Has a high school diploma or G.E.D. certificate
  1. Has received or is eligible to receive certification as a school food service employee by the Division of School Food Service
  1. Has specialized skills in basic mathematics
  1. Has the ability to lift and move objects weighing at least 50 pounds numerous times per day
  1. Is neat and clean in person and in work habits
  1. Has ability to read and follow written directions and recipes
  1. Has ability to operate equipment used in school cafeteria such as cash register, slicer, grater, mixer, steamer, frying machine, dishwasher, steam cart, ovens, etc.
  1. Has training and experience in quantity cooking (preferred)

REPORTS TO: Manager Cafeteria

JOB GOAL: To serve attractive and nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness, and warmth

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Be familiar with written guidelines, policies, procedures, and directions from supervisor related to job responsibilities
  1. Check food shipments into school, signing invoices only after each order has been verified
  1. Check daily menus with manager and work out recipes for correct food amounts
  1. Prepare food according to planned menu and tested recipes
  1. Assure that food is of best quality in flavor and appearance before it is served
  1. Record all food withdrawn from storage
  1. Assure that unused foods are properly stored or disposed of
  1. Perform major cleaning at regularly scheduled intervals as designated by manager
  1. Assist in daily cleaning of kitchen
  1. Assist in collecting money for meals and beverages sold
  1. Move equipment, supplies and furniture as required for area of responsibility
  1. Report immediately any problems or accidents occurring in the kitchen to the Manager Cafeteria
  1. Report to manager any faulty or inferior quality food which is received
  1. Assist manager in keeping production records
  1. Assist manager in ordering supplies
  1. Assume manager duties in manager's absence
  1. Attend in-service training or workshops
  1. Perform other duties consistent with the position assigned as may be requested by the supervisor
