Training & Apprenticeship Coordinator

SUMMARY: We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Training & Apprenticeship Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing training programs and apprenticeship initiatives within the organization. The position will work closely with various stakeholders to identify training needs, manage apprenticeship placements, and ensure compliance with industry standards. This role requires a strong understanding of adult learning principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple training initiatives simultaneously.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Design, implement, and evaluate training programs and apprenticeship frameworks that align with organizational goals and industry standards.
  • Conduct needs assessments to identify training requirements and skills gaps among employees.
  • Schedule and coordinate training sessions, workshops, and apprenticeship programs, ensuring all logistics are managed effectively.
  • Maintain accurate records of training attendance, participant progress, and program outcomes.
  • Liaise with external partners, and educational institutions to create and promote apprenticeship opportunities.
  • Foster relationships with industry organizations to stay updated on best practices and trends in apprenticeship training.
  • Assess the effectiveness of training programs through participant feedback, evaluations, and performance metrics.
  • Provide recommendations for continuous improvement of training content and delivery methods.
  • Offer support and mentorship to apprentices and trainees, addressing any challenges they may encounter during their training.
  • Serve as a point of contact for apprentices, trainers, and management to facilitate communication and resolve issues
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Bilingual Spanish preferred.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Adult Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred). The degree requirement may be substituted for eight (8) years of professional work experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience designing and delivering training programs, preferably in the workforce development industry.
  • Strong knowledge of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.
  • Proficiency in using learning management systems (LMS) and e-learning authoring tools.
  • Professional certifications in training and development (e.g., CPLP, CPTM) are a plus.
  • Experience working with adults in the workforce system and those disconnected from services.
  • Experienced with Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act (WIOA) and other workforce related programs highly preferred.


OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Personal computer literacy required, including effective use of the Internet, e-mail, video conferencing (Zoom, Teams) and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook). Ability to learn and efficiently utilize various case management software programs.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk, sit, talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
