Job Description
Prescient Edge is seeking a Human Resources Intern to support our HR, Finance, and Recruiting teams. The goal of this internship is to ensure that the student is able to apply academic theories to real-world situations and dilemmas in the workplace. This internship is intended to provide the student with experience across multiple domains, including recruitment, benefits, payroll, talent management, and compliance. In addition, the student will have a chance to work with innovative professionals, learn about the Government contracting industry, and gain work experience in a fast-paced environment.
The HR Intern will report to the HR Manager but also support the Recruiting and Finance teams as needed. The internship will start as soon as possible and finish at the end of the summer. The schedule is flexible, but the internship is not to exceed 30 hours per week. This internship is paid.
Responsibilities and projects may include:
- Scan, organize, and maintain personnel files
- Draft the monthly employee newsletter
- Assist with onboarding, including downloading completed forms and shadowing onboarding calls with new employees
- Support the recruiting team by formatting resumes for submission to Government clients, posting job requisitions on our company website, and sourcing candidates for open positions
- Research various topics and support ongoing HR initiatives
- Other duties as assigned
- A current undergraduate (junior or senior) or graduate student studying human resources management, business, or a related area of study at a university accredited by the U.S. Department of Education
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- A strong work ethic, including the ability to act with discretion and treat all sensitive information as confidential
- A sharp attention to detail
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to analyze data and synthesize research into a polished, completed product
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn
- Previous experience with Microsoft Office programs, including Excel and PowerPoint
