The Maintenance Supervisor leads a team of technically skilled employees that are responsible for equipment availability, and performance. Manages workload with a positive attitude as a hands-on team player in a collaborative work environment.

Essential Functions/Key Deliverables

  • Develop and maintain a constant safety environment and provide necessary training updates while striving for zero incidents and full compliance with OSHA and plant standards.
  • Provide effective supervision, training and coaching to assigned maintenance employees to achieve the required equipment up time, equipment repairs, and production goals
  • Ensure that standard operating procedures and engineering/maintenance procedures are current, accurate and that all work is done in compliance to ensure maximum quality
  • Monitor to ensure the maintenance employees assigned to you comply with Environmental, Health & Safety, and Food Safety standards as set forth in plant policies/programs
  • Work with employees to resolve technical and machine problems.
  • Schedule, monitor and track preventive maintenance to effectively meet production needs
  • Ensure accurate spare parts inventory and on-site availability to support equipment repairs and upgrades
  • Provides and plans technical training
  • Assist Operation efforts to continually improve OEE and Spoilage results
  • Enforce safe work practices
  • Participates in the department strategic planning process and ensures appropriate skills are available when needed
  • Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the plant, and the company. Includes ability to handle stress and to interact with others to establish and maintain a positive and productive work environment and minimize personal conflicts.
  • Member of HARA team.
  • Perform any other duty reasonable corresponding with the role.
Knowledge/Skills/Experience
  • Associates or bachelors degree in an engineering discipline or significant experience in a related/similar field
  • Strong preventive maintenance development experience, based on TPM principles a plus
  • Must be able to motivate/lead others, deal with ambiguity, have a results-driven mind-set, good decision-making skills, and excellent communication skills
  • 5 years job related experience in a food safety manufacturing environment
  • 2 years supervisory/leadership experience
  • Able to manage multiple tasks with competing priorities, establish and achieve goals
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office: Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, etc.
