The Mechanical Designer III is responsible for assisting the Engineering Team Lead with assigning tasks and providing direction and assistance to the Design group. This position is also responsible for performing mechanical design for power, lighting, and low voltage system construction projects, or Faith/Excellerate/Entech products. The incumbent must be recognized as possessing a high level of technical depth in at least one design area.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Technical Diploma in Mechanical CAD Drafting or Associate Degree in Mechanical Design Technology
Experience: 8 years of progressive mechanical design experience. 5 years of product development experience preferred.
Travel: 10-15%
Work Schedule: This position works between the hours of 7 AM and 5 PM, Monday- Friday. However, work may be performed at any time on any day of the week to meet business needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
- Prepares mechanical designs for power, lighting, and low voltage electrical system installations or Faith/Excellerate/Entech products.
- Interacts with Estimating and Project Managers to collaborate on design intent.
- Checks CAD-produced drawings against design input for accuracy.
- Documents and helps to present technical information during design reviews, normally in the form of CAD model presentations and manipulations for viewing and discussion.
- Presents our design services to clients and meets with them to uncover their needs, as needed.
- Interfaces and coordinates with clients, and other subcontractors: architectural, civil, structural, HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection system design.
- Performs mechanical calculations and provides code-compliant designs.
- Sufficiently documents scope of design for customer review and ensures that all assumptions in design are documented to avoid risk.
- Leads, directs, coordinates, and assists with the work activities of the Design staff relating to design functions.
- Prepares complete design proposals to present to the client.
