The

Market Development Manager

position if responsible for the growth of HVAC product lines in the Western Region of the US and plays a crucial role in driving the growth of the company's offerings. This role is key to the Xylem’s success in expanding its HVAC product presence and achieving high sales in the Western Region(CA, UT, AZ, OR, WA, NV).

Key focus areas of this role include:

Market Growth

:

Focus on the expansion and increased sales of HVAC product lines within the Western Region.

Collaborate with key stakeholders, including the Senior Director of Sales, CBS, and Channel Partners, to ensure market growth strategies are effectively implemented.

Sales & Market Penetration

:

Develop and execute strategies to achieve maximum market penetration.

Work closely with the sales team to drive sales, ensure the alignment of business objectives, and support revenue growth.

Understanding of Pump Markets

:

Maintain a comprehensive understanding of all pump markets within the region, which includes the dynamics, trends, and customer needs specific to HVAC systems and related products.

Collaboration with Product Development & Marketing

:

Provide market intelligence, insights, and assistance to the Product Development and Marketing departments, ensuring new products meet the needs and demands of the region.

Offer valuable input during the launch phase of new products, ensuring they are tailored to the specific requirements and opportunities in the Western Region.

Channel Partner Relationships

:

Foster and manage relationships with channel partners to drive product adoption, market share, and overall success in the region.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop Master Business Plan with Representatives

:

Create detailed business plans with each representative, including goals, targeted accounts, travel requirements, OEM prospects, strategies for growing major trade areas, and sales adoption plans for new products.

Achieve Sales Targets

:

Deliver on sales targets and order quotas as per budget expectations. Collaborate with reps and distributors to increase sales and market share of Xylem products within the territory and region.

Expand Representation

:

Open new representative channels when necessary and where opportunities for growth exist. Actively seek and develop partnerships to expand market reach.

Training & Development

:

Travel with representatives and distributors to train personnel, enhancing their ability to sell and promote Xylem products effectively. Provide ongoing product education and assist in growing sales.

Project Management

:

Maintain a robust project pipeline, coordinating updates and tracking progress from all channels to ensure major projects are managed effectively.

Market Intelligence

:

Work with marketing teams to define new market opportunities and potential product developments. Keep management informed of competitors' activities in the territory to maintain a competitive edge.

Prospecting & Lead Generation

:

Make prospecting calls to OEMs and potential distributors within the territory to drive growth and uncover new opportunities.

Industry Engagement

:

Attend trade shows, industry events, and conferences to stay informed on product trends, market shifts, and customer needs.

Training Delivery

:

Lead training sessions focused on products, industry trends, and technical equipment selection to ensure reps and distributors are well-equipped to support sales.

Motivational Leadership

:

Effectively motivate and coach non-direct reports to implement strategies and meet sales goals, ensuring alignment with broader company objectives.

Effective Management

:

Manage distributor conflicts, ensure timely submission of required reports, and uphold organizational standards. Operate independently with a strong work ethic and a focus on prevention, accountability, and decision-making.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor Degree or Preferred B.S. degree Mechanical Engineering or Business Degree with field related experience or related field

Minimum of 4-6 Years Field Sales Experience

Channel Management Experience required

Good communication, organization skills , and computer literacy,

Leadership Managerial Competencies

Strong leadership skills

Strong interpersonal and presentation skills

Superior Oral & Written Communication

50% Travel Required

At Xylem we offer a competitive compensation package with a generous benefit package, including Medical, Dental, Vision plans, 401(k) with company contribution, paid time off(FTO), paid parental leave and tuition reimbursement. The estimated compensation on this role is a base salary plus quarterly bonus with an on target earning potential of 152K-189. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.

Salary range:

$81,000.00 - $146,000.00
