Volt is immediately hiring for a Process Engineering Technician in West Columbia, South Carolina.

As a Process Engineering Technician you will:

  • Implement and evaluate proposed designs and processes for manufacturability.
  • Prepare justification, purchase, and implement capital equipment for production.
  • Oversee new process equipment production.
  • Establish robust, repeatable, and reproducible process parameters.
  • Trouble shoot Molding process related issues.
  • Participate in activities pertaining to cycle time and process improvements.
  • Evaluate and select various engineered materials.
  • Implement statistical process analysis on new and existing products.
  • Implement safety, productivity, and yield improvements.
  • Improve manufacturing techniques and throughput.
  • Provide continuous development of manufacturing techniques that will improve in-house capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation.
  • Review processing methods.
  • Interface with production of all activities associated with new process implementation and transfer.
  • Provide equipment maintenance and repair support as required.
  • Lead cost improvement/reduction programs.
  • Process technician “Apprentice” level – Basic knowledge of EDHR and MESPRO systems. Basic understanding in cleaning molds and filling out CCL's. Tech should be able to assist with setup. Able to read and understand the process guide. Basic knowledge of injection molding.
 

  • Process technician “Entry” level - Basic knowledge of all restarts and fresh cold starts. Ability to comprehend start-up and shutdown procedures for all operations. Basic troubleshooting skills. Tech should be able to execute a lot change. Tech needs to have prior injection molding experience needed at least (2+Years). Basic knowledge of tooling issues and be able to report any issues to the Supervisor. Basic Skills on tool setup and be to execute simple tools on setup. Tech continues to work under supervision.
 

  • Process technician “Intermediate” level – Knowledge of MESPRO, EDHR, OEE, Dashboard systems. Tech will have attention to detail on startups and shutdown procedures. Tech will have prior injection molding experience (3-5+Years). Tech should be able to work independently. Tech should be able to work independently on setups. Tech should be able to fill out mold traveler forms. Tech should be able to execute complex tool setups.
 

  • Process technician “SME” level – Advanced knowledge in all documentation and procedures. Expert in e-dart interpretation data. Tech should be able to be an expert in startups and shutdowns and be able to train other techs with high attention to detail. Tech will be able to support engineering in IQ, OQ, PQ activities. The tech should know how to troubleshoot all auxiliary equipment. Tech should be able to train all other techs in setup, processing, defect analysis for quality, and all documentation. The tech will need to obtain a Master Molder 1 certification for scientific molding.

This is a full time opportunity.


The ideal candidate will have:

  • 5 years minimum experience scientific molding
  • Attention to detail
  • Data analysis knowledge
  • Understands tooling
  • Scientific molding is a plus
  • Must be able to lift 25lbs
Pay Rate: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
