Job Description
QED Systems, LLC, is currently recruiting for a Senior Hardware Engineer to join our team at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD to support our customer, Project Manager Intelligence Systems & Analytics – Army (PM IS&A), TITAN Program.
Duties:
Specific duties include:
- Tracking the Size, Weight, Power, and Cost (SWAP-C) aspects of all the TITAN configurations.
- Tracking the hardware configurations of each variant.
- Understanding all mechanical/thermal/power aspects of the variants.
- Monitoring and supporting the integration of the vehicles/shelters.
- Supporting all environmental testing.
- Analyzing and recommending solutions to any mechanical/thermal/power issues that arise from testing.
- Continuously identify hardware requirements and assess hardware requirements against the software needs of systems.
- Provide analyses and assessments of engineering change proposals (ECPs), functional and physical configuration audits (FCAs/PCAs), and first article or production qualification testing.
- Provide analysis and assessments on vendor submitted specifications, designs, drawings, test plans, and test reports.
- Participate and provide feedback on component, subsystem, and system level testing.
- Provide testing to determine if a particular design is feasible and to achieve maximum compatibility.
- Apply industry best practices in the C5ISR architecture-based processes, frameworks, tools, and architecture views/viewpoints.
- These architecture-based systems engineering processes and frameworks include, for example, the Department of Defense (DOD) Architecture Framework (DoDAF), v1.0, and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 1471-2000. Architecture views/viewpoints will include Department of Defense Architecture Framework DoDAF operational, system, and technical views as well as additional views needed to describe hardware and the software for development and test purposes and to support future life cycle maintenance.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Detailed-oriented with excellent technical, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Direct experience in the design, development, integration, and analysis of hardware projects to include integration of protocols, virtual software applications such as VMWARE and common operating systems such as UNIX/RedHat Linux.
- Requires effective communication skills both verbal and written, skilled mechanical engineering, electronics engineering for Space, Weight, Environmental and Power or Electromagnetic Interference or Compatibility.
- Program Information Experience in developing policy on protection of program technologies. Drafted and has gotten approval for Security Classification Guides.
- Experienced with briefing stakeholders (all levels to include O-6) on system analysis and test results for system components, architectural changes supporting EOL changes or configuration updates due to technological upgrades.
Required Clearance:
- ACTIVE CLEARANCE LEVEL REQUIRED: Top Secret w/SCI
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronic, System or Computer Engineering; Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
- At least fifteen (15) years of related work experience required.
- An additional fifteen (15) years of related experience may be substituted for education.
Travel:
Less than 30% travel is expected for this position. Travel may include continental United States and outside continental United States locations.
Work Environment:
This position may be performed in a variety of locations, including but not limited to, commercial and/or government offices, test and integration labs, government facilities and depots, and test & evaluation and proving grounds.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full‐time position, Monday through Friday. Flexibility around core hours. Travel may occur outside of normal core hours.

Estimated Salary Range for fully qualified candidates: $150,000.00 - $185,000.00, annually. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. This represents the typical range for this position based on experience, geographic location, and other factors. The final offer amount may vary.
