POSITION SUMMARY:

Accountable for directing the plant production activities and leading the production team to produce and ship quality products to meet business & customer requirements. Responsible for full plant operations in the absence of the plant manager. Responsible for setting strategic direction and implementation of NCE/TPM for the plant.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Planning and Organizing: Continuous improvements focus/delivered results on: Safety, Direct Consumer Communications, Low Cost/High Efficiencies, Renovation/innovation, and Product Availability. Controls and effectively utilizes the production capacity, manpower and equipment, and outside resources through planning, organizing, and scheduling to minimize losses; works within the framework of the budget to optimize company profitability.
  2. Resolving Problems: Interprets policy and decides the best course of action in problems of quality, scheduling and interpretation of engineering requirements, particularly where interdepartmental contacts are involved, to maintain efficient operations. To be capable of making timely and knowledgeable decisions as needed when operations and employee issues arise and take necessary action.
  3. Communication: Coordinates with the Supply Chain Department to provide production and shipment of quality products to fulfill customer requirements. Participates in company planning through budget preparation, capital expenditure recommendation, manpower and space forecasting. To communicate all pertinent information and to appropriate persons in a timely manner.
  4. Leadership: Ensure development of staff – through performance management, career development, succession planning, and coaching. Through development staff, ensure effective and efficient management within operations.

Performs additional duties as assigned by Management.

All employees will support and participate in Nestlé Continuous Excellence (NCE) and Total Performance Management (TPM) as a part of their job responsibility within their Business Unit or as assigned within the factory.

REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:

Bachelor’s Degree in operation Management or related field. Food Industry experience required.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 5 years Managerial experience in industrial/manufacturing setting with exposure to union workforce highly preferred.

SKILLS:

  • Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills; ability to analyze data.
  • Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to mentor, coach and develop others.
