Executive Director Responsibilities:

  1. Report directly to our Assistant Vice President of Operations.
  2. Oversee the day-to-day operations of your assigned hospice location.
  3. Coordinate the admission of patients to Hospice Services in a smooth, systematic process.
  4. Arrange for ancillary services to ensure they are complementary.
  5. Oversee the direction, supervision, and evaluation of hospice personnel and volunteers.
  6. Coordinate services of all team members of the multi-teamed site.
  7. Maintain ongoing communication with leadership.

  2. Incorporates continuous quality improvement principles in day-to-day activities.
  3. Promotes and monitors compliance with requirements and standards established by accrediting or licensing agencies.
  4. Recommends and implements policies and procedures.
  5. Promotes positive communications and keeps employees informed of changes.
  6. Provides core orientation and training for employees, volunteers, and contract personnel.
  7. Responsible for the selection, supervision, and evaluation of interdisciplinary team members.
  8. Manages teams to goals and standards for performance.
  9. Makes appropriate assignments among employees according to their abilities.
  10. Plans and organizes tasks and resources to achieve strategic goals.
  11. Ensures documentation of services is accurate and timely.
  12. Monitors and supervises quality of patient care.
  13. May perform routine visits to patient homes or participate in on-call schedule (if a Registered Nurse).
  14. Works with physicians, patients, families, and staff regarding problems and needs.
  15. Responsible for supervision and evaluation of family satisfaction surveys.
  16. Manages financial resources prudently and effectively.
  17. Completes financial reviews in collaboration with the Administrator.
  18. Ensures annual expenditures are within budget.

About You

Education:

  1. Registered Nurse with minimum of Associate’s Degree in Nursing required.
  2. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited school of nursing preferred.
  3. Master’s degree in business, nursing, or related field preferred.

Experience:

  1. Minimum one year management/supervisory experience required.
  2. Two or more years’ experience in hospice/home care required.
  3. Three years’ experience in direct patient care in a clinical setting preferred.
  4. Three to five years healthcare sales/management experience preferred.

Licenses, Certifications and/or Registration:

  1. Current license to practice nursing in the state of requested employment.
  2. CPR Certification.
  3. Current automobile insurance and valid driver’s license.
