VulcanForms Inc. seeks a Manufacturing Engineer for our Devens, MA location.
Job Purpose
As aManufacturing Engineerat VulcanForms Inc.,Devens, MA, your main objective will be to provide technical leadership for the commissioning of the 3D Laser printers. This work includes providing documentation and floor support for machine build and engineering. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in all aspects of manufacturing operations, including health and safety regulations to achieve the highest standards and a safe work environment.
Key Accountabilities
- Work closely with Mechanical, Controls, Process Monitoring and Machine Build teams to coordinate work
- Develop FAT/SAT checklists to facilitate machine startup completion
- Execute sub-system machine install qualification activities (IQs)
- Write and maintain procedures & checklists for repeatable startup of machines
- Working knowledge of industrial automation HW, which includes, but not limited to, PLCs, IO modules, drives, motors, schematics and wiring as they pertain to complex machine functions
- Utilize lean manufacturing principles and participate in action workouts to improve process capability, reduce overall costs, and increase capacity.
- Develop, improve TPMs for machines
- Project management of machine commissioning aspect of machine builds
- Use data-driven root cause and corrective action tool usage to support business goals & objectives.
- Ensure the safety of all associates by identifying safety issues and taking measures to proactively address concerns and adhere to the safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- 5+ years experience as a Manufacturing Engineer
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and operations
- Ability to develop and implement qualified processes using applicable systems (process failure mode and effect analysis, fault tree analysis, process validation, process planning tools, design of experiments)
- Knowledge of Industrial Automation tools like, but not limited to, PLCs, drives, motors, IO modules etc
- Experience with Vision systems as they pertain to automated systems
- Knowledge of PC based data systems
- Knowledge of Laser printer systems
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing techniques, Quality Systems, and SPC tools
Preferred
- Experience in Metal Additive Manufacturing
- Experience qualifying equipment for medical manufacturing
- Experience developing and implementing automated cells
