A surgical tech or SPD role is not just an opportunity to be a difference-maker, it's the chance to harness the knowledge, support and potential that surrounds you. As a Surgical Tech/Scrub Tech you will: Work under the supervision of the surgeon and RN. Assist surgical team during operative procedures by arranging and inventorying sterile set-up of instruments, equipment and supplies for surgical cases and passing items to surgeons and nurses as needed. Assist in preparing and moving patients and sterilizing and cleaning instruments, equipment and rooms. Day to Day duties: Acting as an advocate for patient before, during and after surgery. Scrub on all cases Primarily, Gen, Gyn, Robotics (DaVinci XI/SI), Oral Surgery, Dental, Ortho, Ortho (totals/ trauma/ Sports Medicine). ENT, Urology, Podiatry, Spine, Plastics and Cancer Care. Associates are cross trained for all services, no specialized service Teams. May float to give breaks, provide support, and relieve for shifts. Assisting with room turnover and restocking and picking instruments for next day’s cases. In alignment with the AST and Common Spirit Health’s job description. Maintain sterile field during procedures, pass instruments to surgeons, anticipate surgeon’s needs with a surgical conscience that aligns with policy and protocol for excellent, safe and professional patient care. Works with leadership to maintain and update preference cards. Guides new associates in onboarding. Ensures smooth surgical process. Previous OR Experience Required 16 OR Suites Approx. 200-250+ cases per Week Schedule- 36hrs/Week-Days- 3 x 12hrs-0700-1900- Variable days per surgical Volume and current unit needs Call Required- Self-scheduled weeknights adn Weekends depending on work shift, totaling 6 per six-week scheduling block. Shifts include- 3:30p-8p, 3:30p-11p, 5:30p-11p, 11p-7a, and weekends 7a-7p and 7p-7a. We also require 2 holiday coverage shifts each year (call or work). 30 Min Callback radius required. Qualifications: In addition to bringing your whole self to the workplace each day, qualified candidates will need the following: Basic Computer skills required. One year of experience in a surgical setting preferred. Experience in a specialty field preferred. HS Diploma/GED required Completion of an approved Surgical Technician program required BLS from the American Heart Association required Current registration with the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies (DORA) as a surgical technologist for associates working in Colorado. * A person performing Surgical Tech functions within the scope of another Colorado license, certification, or registration does not need to register as a Surgical Tech required Certification in Surgical Technology from the National Board Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or Certification as a Tech in Surgery (CST) from the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) required Physical Requirements-Medium Work - (Exert up to 50lbs force occasionally, and/or up to 20lbs frequently, and/or up to 10lbs constantly) Your Connected Community: At CommonSpirit Mountain Region, we believe in the healing power of humanity and serving the common good through our dedicated work and shared mission to celebrate humankindness.
